FAQ
What is a Cognitive Behavioral Coach?
A Cognitive Behavioural Coach is a professional that utilizes a method of combining and coordinating the use of techniques within a framework that’s developed for each individual. A CBC provides clients with the tools or skills that enable them to shift their mindset in order to achieve their goals.
What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?
Although they are similar, focusing on implementing positive and productive changes, they serve different purposes. Counseling tends to focus on emotions, the past, and how that’s affecting your present. While coaching focuses on creating a plan for the future, goal attainment, and wellness.
Who is Cognitive Behavioral Coaching for?
Coaching is for anyone that’s currently in transition, feeling stuck, or looking for assistance with making changes in their life. Cognitive Behavioral Coaching provides the most benefits to those who are experiencing current levels of avoidance or stress that are negatively impacting performance.
What does a Coach not do?
Typically a Coach does not provide advice or tell a client what to do. The coaching process is about providing clients with the tools necessary for them to be able to find the right solution for them as an individual.
The coach supports the client in the process through brainstorming, discussion, journaling, and most important reflection.
What should I expect during a session?
In order to meet the needs of those in a different location, busy professionals, and to provide a comfortable home environment for clients, I offer the option to meet on Zoom.
We’ll start each session by reviewing the client’s priorities for the current session, any obstacles in achieving their goal, and accomplishments. Then we’ll work through overcoming barriers together, recreating successful routines, and decide on the next action steps.
Why results can’t be guaranteed and it’s important to be cautious of Coaches who do?
Coaching is a collaborative process where both parties are responsible for progress, it’s not just down to the coach. A coach can provide you with the questions or tools necessary but, results are provided when a client takes the essential actions after the session.
How many sessions are needed?
We have a multitude of packages that suit the different needs of our clients. In order to gain the best results from coaching most complete at minimum 5 coaching sessions.
Those help you get started on feeling empowered about your journey until your approved for the Overachiever Package!
Why invest in a Coach?
The largest benefit clients receive is the investment in not only themselves but their future. When someone chooses to invest their time, money, and energy in a support system that keeps them on track it initiates the needed change to get unstuck.
This powerful shift creates positive lasting impacts on overall wellness and empowers individuals to gain the skills necessary to become their own life coach.
Are there clients you don’t work with?
Yes, there are some clients I am unable to assist and therefore don’t personally work with them. Cognitive Behavioral Coaching focuses primarily on the future and what is within the client’s present control. The mission is to assist clients in living a more fulfilled life, and in some cases, that’s providing them with a reference to another professional.
