What is a Professional Organizer & what do they do?

No need to continue feeling overwhelmed by the clutter. A Professional Organizer is someone who helps walk you through the steps of not only decluttering your space but also assists in setting up aesthetically pleasing systems.

By providing a combination of coaching, accountability, a customized organization plan, supply recommendations, installation of different systems, and follow-up appointments as requested I’ll also support you in keeping it organized.

How involved do I have to be, will you do it all, work with me, or just coach me through the process?

You can be as involved as you’d like to be in the process. The more that you’re involved the better I’m able to meet your expectations, support you in reaching your goals, and ensure it works with your specific needs or routines.

I have a session minimum which sometimes means you don’t have time to be around while all the organizing or unpacking takes place, that’s alright. I’ll need your input but it can be completed with the help of photos or Facetime if necessary.

What are the benefits of working with and hiring an organizer?

The benefits of getting organized are endless!

Having someone objective to guide you through the process will help manage the feelings of being overwhelmed, overcome the difficulty of making decisions, and keep you from becoming overloaded with the clutter.

Although it may take both time and money upfront to get a space organized, it’ll save you both in the long run. When we’re able to efficiently find things while also knowing how much of something, and how much space we have for particular things we don’t overbuy.

How many sessions are needed?

How quickly we’re able to progress through a project depends on a few different variables.

I provide a recommendation of sessions after the first consultation. Once I’ve viewed the space I factor in the size of the area, the current amount of clutter, the type of items currently there, your ability to make decisions on belongings, and any individual needs.

What should I expect during a session?

I'll remove every item from a space so I'm able to clearly see what we're working with. Simultaneously, I'll be placing suggested items into donate keep, store, or trash piles.

I'll categorize each of the remaining items, then formulate a plan for different zones based on the way you live, and utilize a space.

Finally, I’ll put each of the items into their new home, at a location in the space that works, and is aesthetically pleasing.

Why do you charge by sessions instead of hourly?

When organizing is charged by the hour, I’ve found it can further overwhelm and pressure the client, which is the opposite of my mission. The quality of service is as important to me as it is to you and it’s a process that sholuldn’t be rushed.

Completing projects through sessions gives us the flexibility to work on more than one space if necessary. It also allows me to assist you in the areas of the process that you’d most like to focus on whether that’s the decision-making process, the system implementation, categorization, or any other individual needs.

Will you come in and make me get rid of all my things?

One of the biggest myths is that an organizer will come into your home and require you to get rid of all your belongings. If you’ve got the space, things have a place, and purpose I’m of the belief it can stay. My goal is to then help install systems that’ll help you make the decision in the future of what to keep and remove as you inevitably acquire new items

Part of the process is me coaching you through the journey by asking questions, making recommendations, then passing on the skill of how to make decisions based on your goals and lifestyle. Although removing items is part of the process the decision to keep, donate, sell, relocate, or throw away is ultimately yours love!

Can you help me manage a move & settle into a new home?

Yes, I’d love to assist you before the move, after, or both!

If you’d like to get things sorted and categorized prior to the move, I’d love to assist you through the decisions and process of efficiently packing, only taking what you intend to utilize in the new home.

Then if you’d like assistance in making your new house a home without all the fuss and hassle I’d be delighted to help you unpack, get the space set up for you, and provide you the opportunity to immediately start enjoying your home!

What if I’m embarrassed about my clutter or the items in a particular space?

As a recovering perfectionist, I understand the feelings of not wanting others to see the personal parts of our lives that aren’t put together yet.

I’m not interested in embarrassing, judging, or shaming you. All services are private and confidential. My mission is to help you reach your intended goals for a space, that not only feels comfortable but is also functional.

Can I hire you as a gift for someone else?

Of course, when you give the gift of organization to those you care for you’re offering them so much more. Ideally, the gift of more time in the future, which let’s be honest, is priceless!

Whether it’s for a birthday/holiday, busy mom, the traveler, professional with no time, the transitioning empty nesters, the newlyweds, a family member, an anniversary, or the office I’ve got you covered.

Is getting virtually organized really possible?

Yes, if DIY is your middle name this is the package for you. The only difference from the in-person package is you’ll be the one physically moving the items.

Organizing isn’t always about not having time. Sometimes it’s more about not knowing where to start with the clutter, how to go about the decision-making process, or deciding where things should go. Let me help you through the overwhelm regardless of where you live!
